Picture is a report of a Co-operative Demonstration in Platt Fields, Rusholme, Manchester on World Co-operative Day, Saturday July 5th 1921. Back then the Tories ran the City and refused to let the Co-op use any of the parks. But back then the Co-op was more political and held a big demonstration anyway. Speakers include Alfred Waterson the first Co-op MP, S.F. Perry the Co-op Party National Secretary, and a host of Labour Councillors and officials from the Trades Council.
